Markerland Park: Visionland
Welcome to a world of the future as it was imagined from the past. Here, some of history's greatest visionaries are honored and the worlds they imagined are realized in an exciting new way.
When guests come in from the hub, they go over a bridge recreating the famous Ponte Vecchio in Italy. From there, guests enter a Renassiance-era Italian village, inspired by places like Florence. In the center of a town square is a spinning ride where guests fly on planets as they orbit the sun. This is known as Heliosphera, and it is inspired by Copernicus's and Galileo's theory of the sun being the center of the universe, not the Earth. Located nearby is the Vitruvian Man gift shop and the Mona Lisa Pizzeria. Also here is a journey through human history called the Story of Mankind, a semi-educational omnimover ride about how humanity has evolved from primal caveman to the advanced species of today. Also in this area is Michelangelo's Gelato and another big attraction, Flyover the World, a flight simulator where guests ride on Da Vinci's Flying Machine. The ride exits into Florence Traders.
As guests go through a passage between two buildings, they are redirected into a Steampunk city, inspired by 19th Century Paris. In the center of the land is a giant dome with Steampunx design. Here is where guests can ride a launch coaster known as Time Mountain, an indoor coaster loosely inspired by H. G. Welles' The Time Machine. Timekeeper Cafe is a nearby restaurant themed to the ride while the Souvenirs de Visionnaires is a gift shop. There is also a Parisian-style Cafe called Bistro Eiffel, referencing the man who built the Eiffel Tower for the 1889 World's Fair. Located in the back of the area is the Visionland station for the Markerland Railroad, which sends trains back to Big City USA. Also here is a large building, home to the Adventure Atlantis Attraction. Using similar technology to the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man or Transformers: The Ride - 3D at Universal, this 3D motion-based dark ride is where guests board advanced submarine vehicles and search for the Lost City of Atlantis. This attraction draws mainly from the works of Jules Verne, with influence from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Center of the Earth being present. The ride exits into Les Trezors de Demain, a gift shop.
